“I am from Europe and I have lived in Costa Rica for many years. My husband and I fell in love with Hacienda Las Colinas and we have boarded my horse there. After several years, I am so happy with the team and the quality of service. My horse is so beautiful, clean, and very healthy. It’s my second home, and I ride my horse as often as I can; my horse is always ready when I arrive. But I also love finding my horse in the pasture, as it is such a beautiful setting.”

“We had a wonderful stay at Hacienda Las Colinas, staying in a comfortable lodge with a terrace that offered a stunning view of nature. The infinity pool allowed us to watch toucans while enjoying the peaceful environment. The pool house’s fully equipped kitchen gave us complete independence during our stay. Horseback riding with Gustavo, a true horse whisperer, was an unforgettable experience. Breakfast was a delight with fresh fruits harvested directly on-site. The beauty and tranquility of this place made it the perfect spot for our first Costa Rican adventure!”

“We had an adventure-filled trail ride at Las Colinas Farm! The facilities are some of the most beautiful in Costa Rica. The experience begins in the stable, where you meet your horse, followed by time in the covered riding ring to connect. The horses are well-trained for all levels of riders, making it a safe and enjoyable experience. The trail takes you through cacao and vanilla farms, and if the season allows, across a river. At the mountain’s summit, the views are breathtaking. After the ride, we enjoyed fresh sugar cane juice and relaxed by the infinity pool. A perfect blend of nature and luxury!”

“It was truly fabulous. We loved our stay. This property is magnificent. The horseback riding was truly amazing. Gustavo was able to adapt to our child and beginner family. Thank you to the Hacienda Las Colinas’s team, you are very professional and attentive.”

“Discovering Hacienda Las Colinas is like finding all the charm of Costa Rica in one place (Pura Vida, lush vegetation with mountains as a backdrop, and a diverse array of wildlife including iguanas, parrots, toucans, frogs, and countless other birds—not to mention the horse farm and the opportunity to ride in an incredible setting) on an estate where lodges, a swimming pool, and living spaces are designed to perfection! You have to experience it to understand! And it’s clearly the ideal place to unpack your bags after exploring this amazing country and relax before heading home! Kudos to the team there—they are so kind, helpful, and friendly!”

“An amazing experience staying at this wonderful
venue.
Great guesthouse with a fab view over the paddocks, with mountains in the background and Birdlife galore
The views from the infinity pool are equally great
And we had a wonderful ride out across the plantation to get views of the Pacific coast and the mountains to the East.
Thoroughly recommend a visit.”

“Fantastic family stay in a luxurious setting.
A wonderful stay in a beautiful location with lots of animals. An hacienda all to ourselves, with a wonderful swimming pool in a paradisiacal setting. The staff is very kind and friendly, and we had the opportunity to go horseback riding and explore their various plantations of vanilla, cacao, coffee and other fruits. Thank you so much for allowing us to experience this moment. Thank you very much.”

“There are places that seem to have emerged straight from a dream, casting a spell of exquisite intoxication. Hacienda Las Colinas is the very embodiment of this.
A peaceful harmony emanates from the grounds, balanced between the elegant parade of the peacock and the faithful welcome of the dogs. Nestled in one of the two lodges, it was so sweet to be lulled at twilight by the chorus of tree frogs; waking up felt less like an ending and more like a continuation as we faced the vastness of the countryside, fringed by rolling hills.
As we savored the warmth of the infinity pool, where the landscape seems to melt into the water, sipping freshly pressed sugarcane juice, a meal prepared with simplicity and heart awaited us. Discretely set out in the vast open kitchen, its presence only added to the absolute serenity of the estate.
The staff, ever so discreet, looked after us with rare kindness, punctuality, and grace. And if more were needed to captivate us, actively touring the cocoa plantation to taste every stage of its creation, or riding horseback along the river before plunging into the countryside—where time stands still, suspended by the cries of monkeys and the colorful flight of birds—would have completed our journey into this “douceur de vivre.”
We will cherish a magnificent memory of your Hacienda, where time faded away to make room for an enchanted interlude.
